Delving into Various Innovations Launched by the IT Team this year
Are you familiar with Foru Transfer? Have you used it? Foru Transfer is one of the few innovations that the IT Team of Fortune Group has made this year. During the creation of such innovative application, the IT team often encounter various criticism and inputs that they see as a wake-up alarm to be better. With the positive outlook and eager attitude to serve Fortuners, this year the IT Team is presenting 5 innovations that are expected to help Fortuners work more effectively and efficiently. What process did those innovations go through and how?
Let’s check out our interview with the IT team!
Can you tell us about the innovative applications that the IT team has released this year?
It is the job of the IT team to build and develop the System Applications that have quite a lot of modules, such as HCD and Financial Applications, so we spent most of our time to develop the existing System Applications. However, this year there are 5 KPI Application Systems that the IT team is targeting to develop, including 2 new applications, which are Foru Transfer that has been released and one more application that will be released at the end of the year. The following are the three other innovations:
IT Ticketing System is intended for all Fortuners who need IT team’s help with Application or Help Desk so that the IT Team can monitor it easily and things will be more centralized. The IT team can backup and remind one another if there are outstanding jobs, job log, or data history of all Fortuners’ requests, so if the same problems come up in the future, they can refer to the data history for the solution. The IT Ticketing System also has a Knowledge Sharing menu that is intended to share information and tips & tricks on IT matters such as copying contacts from mobile to google drive, various shortcuts on Microsoft Office, and so forth which are increasing each month.
Then we have BSC KPI Monitoring Report which is a web application created to record the monthly progress of the business achievement of each business unit based on the set target. From here, BOD can view and monitor the progress of each business unit via the web. This application has not been implemented because it is still waiting for further confirmation from Mr. Rochim as the PIC of Management System.
Next, with Qlikview (KPI Monitoring Dashboard), we help the third party designated directly by Rajawali Corpora to develop this application. This application aims to monitor the achievement progress of each Company inRajawali Corpora Group in the same format online. All companies use the same Business Intelligence Application that is well known as the world’s best practice, namely Qlikview. Here, every company should display online their Financial Statements and Operational Reports in the standard format that Rajawali has set. We work together with the Finance team. Up to present time, we have just completed the process of formulating and retrieving the transaction data for the reporting of Fortune group’s financial data. By the end of October, we expect to launch it or make it available online and accessible to the BOD of Fortune and Rajawali Corpora. The next stage is for the IT team to periodically develop and input the reports of each business unit. It’s exciting and it is, for us, like a new plaything but at the same time also giving the IT team a headache, hehe.
The purpose/background of releasing each of those apps?
It is mostly based on the users’ needs, either requested or not. There is an unsolicited need, like Foru Transfer. In addition to helping Fortuners in sending large files more quickly, the purpose of making Foru Transfer is to save the internet bandwidth of the office. Every innovation we release is the result of our need analysis based on the daily users’request/ complain/ problem. Finally, the ultimate goal of all applications created by the IT team is to facilitate the performance of Fortuners to be more effective and efficient.
How long does it take for the designing and creating process to finally release to Fortuners?
The making of the application varies for each application, both in the timing and the process. The design process also depends on the availability of human resources of the IT team. It happens because the IT team has multitasking jobs to develop many applications and create new innovative applications, for the financial services.
What is the process of making each of these applications? Are there challenges and difficulties facing the team?
We underwent a series of standard process, namely analysis, survey, design, application development, and implementation. The challenge was on changing Fortuners’ habits and the long process. For example, it was tough to make them switch from using we transfer to Foru Transfer. Generally, that is the process when implementing the new application, it did take some time. It might be more effective if every implementation of the new application was followed by a new policy that required the use of the application.
How does the IT team anticipate the challenge?
Usually, we try to disseminate the new applications via email or by integrating the new application with the existing application so that the user can gradually use the new application because they can synchronize the data required by the applications. Every time we have a new application we always communicate it to Fortuners so that they are all well-informed about the new application from IT.
Who is involved in the making of these innovations?
For the making of application innovations, of course, the IT team does it. But for the accurate information related to the making of the application, we usually need resources who master the scope of the application we want to create. If we are making a financial application, we need information from the finance team so that the application to be released can be maximally created.
From the existing new apps, which ones do Fortuners start to use frequently?
From several applications we have created, there are several applications that are used more frequently, which are Finance Applications (Adsys, Voucher, Media, etc), HCD Application (attendance, PMS, etc), and GA Application (Stationary). Well, hopefully in the future, Fortuners will use more applications from the IT teams.
Is there any criticism or suggestion for the innovations you have made?
Well, we’ve got a lot of criticism, hehe. It can be said that it is the sad part. But we see it as a challenge and a wake-up alarm for betterness. We adhere to the spirit of giving the best for Fortuners so we take every criticism as something constructive for the innovations.
In the future, what other innovations will the IT team make?
In the future, we are focusing on doing surveys and creating a Pitching Log Application intended to collect information or data about the pitches that Fortune Group has ever made. As we know, Fortune has a quite high turnover. With this Log, it is expected that the pitching information ever handled by Fortuners who have resigned can be well recorded, ranging from the contact persons to the failure / success of the pitch. So, Fortuners can learn from the information and might apply it as one of the strategies to win other pitches in the future.
What does the IT Team expect from the innovations that have been made?
Because we make all apps for Fortuners, we surely hope that the applications the IT team has made can be used well by Fortuners and can facilitate their work and help Fortuners to put out their best effort at work.
What are the highs and lows of being in the IT team?
Because we work closely with technology, we definitely become more up to date with the development of IT technology. So, practically the IT team is not technologically amateur, hehe. Talking about the lows, being considered up to date with the IT technology makes others think that we know everything about the technology so we get a lot of questions and are even asked to set a new mobile device.
