Taking Part in the Movement KITA Bercerita, Sanggar Fortune Contributes to the Success of Indonesian Children's Story Festival
Commemorating the National Children’s Day, Sanggar Fortune as a part of the Movement KITA Bercerita (a collaborative program of Rajawali Group) together with Ayo Dongeng Indonesia (Ayodi) or “Let’s Tell Stories Indonesia” organized the “Indonesian Children’s Story Festival” on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.
The main event took place at Panggung si Kancil which is located in Istana Anak-Anak. The event began with storytelling performances of a dozen storytellers from all over Indonesia who managed to attract the attention of hundreds of children and their accompanying parents. The event aims to encourage children to interact with ‘good’ children songs and stories. Various performances ranging from storytelling to children’s music were presented to the visitors.
According to the founder and chairman of Ayodi Community, Mochamad Ariyo Faridh Zidni, this event is held on the basis of concern with the rampant cases of child abuse, cyber bullying, to a number of children songs that are not supposed to be called as such. “The goal of this year’s event is to introduce and remind people about the Rights of Indonesian Children,” said Ariyo.
This event was also enlivened by the talk show “Telling Stories is Good” by Imaginatory team, Kak Rika, and KITA Bercerita. In the talk show, the speakers shared tips for telling stories in fun and easy ways to the parents. They also emphasized the importance of telling stories to children for at least 10 minutes each day. Through storytelling, the relationship quality between parents and children is believed to be stronger, and children will develop more optimally.
