Rajawali Bercerita: “I Want to Tell a Story Too”

rajawali-bercerita“Who wants to hear a story?” asked Kak Dito. “I do… I do… I do…” shouted the children. That morning (2/12), Sanggar Fortune 1 located in Pondok Pinang received a visit from Rajawali Group. This time, Kak Satrio Anindito got the turn to tell a story. With his witty style, as he was telling a story titled Waktunya Cepuk Terbang (Time for the Little Box to Fly), Kak Dito invited the children to imitate a flying box to stimulate their motor. Not to be outdone by Kak Dito, one of the students also showed off her skill in reading another story book titled Petualangan Sekeping Kancing (The Adventure of a Piece of Button) to her friends. “Very exciting. I also love reading books at home “, said Amel after reading the story.

“Hopefully parents at home would also apply this method to the children regularly in order to increase their interest in reading,” said Kak Dito after reading the story. Rajawali Bercerita is a form of Rajawali Group’s concern for education in the country, especially Early Childhood Education (PAUD). Based on a research conducted with partners, Rajawali Group found out that Indonesian early childhood education is still in need of proper learning media. The books for early childhood education are still very difficult to find. In the end of the event, Rajawali Group presented a number of storybooks for children of early age to PAUD teachers of Sanggar Fortune. Rajawali Bercerita program and storybooks distribution will still be conducted in all PAUDs fostered by Sanggar Fortune in December 2015.
