The Launch of Enrichment Materials for Parents and PAUD Teachers As the Cooperation of Sanggar Fortune and Komunitas Rumah Pencerah

IMG_6390 resizeJakarta, November 12, 2015 – Sanggar Fortune and Komunitas Rumah Pencerah (KRP) launched enrichment materials for parents and teachers of PAUD (early childhood education). The material is intended as a guide and reference for parents and teachers across Indonesia to properly and appropriately educate and nurture children of early age.
The parent enrichment material entitled Menjadi Orang Tua Cerdas (Being Smart Parents) consists of six chapters including Understanding the Parent Roles, Understanding Child Growth and Development, Positive Parenting, Building Positive Communications, Self-Concept, and Educating and Guiding Children in the Digital Age. While the teacher enrichment material entitled Guru Cahaya Masa Depan (Teachers, Light of the Future) consists of 18 chapters including true educators, addressing changes in the 21st century, classroom management, tools for educational games, teaching based on how the brain works, and so forth.
Both materials have passed three stages of pilot project through training programs for teachers and parents. From the evaluation results, 97% of the total of 150 participating teachers stated that the presenters in the training were really good. As many as 98% of the participants also stated that they greatly benefit from this training. Some content of the parents enrichment material is used as a reference in drafting the Road Map of Early Childhood Education and Community Education.
“It is time for Early Childhood Education to become our major concern because providing the best education at an early age means building a strong foundation of human capital for the successors of this nation.” said Indira Abidin, the Chairman of Sanggar Fortune Foundation and Director of Fortune Group.
Complementing this enrichment materials, Sanggar Fortune and KRP also facilitate the implementation of training programs for parents and PAUD teachers in order that parents and teachers can understand the enrichment materials more thoroughly and comprehensively. The training also provides the application guidance for parents and PAUD teachers. Sanggar Fortune and KRP has targeted that the enrichment materials and training programs can be implemented in all regions in Indonesia by 2020.
“The material launch and the implementation of training programs for parents and PAUD teachers are in line with our vision, namely to form parents and teachers who play an active role in improving the quality of early childhood education and nurture, as well as to empower parents and PAUD teachers in creating a positive and conducive environment for children development.” said Fery Farhati, the administrator of Komunitas Rumah Pencerah. Fery also said that the launch of the materials and training programs is a form of support for High-Quality PAUD National Movement that is being run by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
Training Program For Fathers Commemorating the National Father’s Day
In addition to launching enrichment materials for parents and PAUD teachers, Sanggar Fortune and Komunitas Rumah Pencerah also held training for Fathers in commemoration of the National Father’s Day. Training for fathers is intended to encourage fathers to participate and be involved in the process of nurturing and educating children. It also provides insights for fathers of their important roles, duties, and responsibility in the family. The father training program was attended by 50 parents of PAUD students.
