PTKPMost of the people of Indonesia do not have extensive knowledge on taxes. In fact, this information is important for those who have earnings since most of their money will go into the state treasury. Every company is required to deposit to the tax office the employees’ income tax (PPh) the amount of which is adjusted with their respected taxable income (PTKP).
Towards the end of 2012, the government established new rules regarding taxable income in accordance with the Regulation of the Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia Number 162/PMK.011/2012 dated October 22, 2012 on the adjustment amount of taxable income. To provide an understanding of the rule, socialization was given for Fortuners (employees) of Fortune Group on Friday, February 8, 2013, located in Agus Salim room in Galaktika building.
In the socialization, Muhammad Iqbal as Fortune Accounting Manager explained the key points related to the new rules issued by the government, i.e. the annual PTKP in Indonesia which was formerly Rp 15,840,000.00 becomes Rp 24,300,000.00 by January 1, 2013 for each individual taxpayer or rises by about 53 percent. For taxpayers who have married, there is an extra Rp2,025,000.00 from Rp 1,320,000.00. The nominal is also applied for every family member and adopted children to be borne by taxpayers fully, a maximum of three people per family.
PTKP2According to Iqbal, the socialization is intended for people who have complained and do not understand the new rules and the impact to net salary every month. “Through this socialization, hopefully Fortuners would better understand why their salary cut changes,” he said.
According to the official announcement of the Directorate General of Tax, the amount of taxable income is used as a deduction from net income in calculating the amount of taxable income for individual taxpayers who earn income in the country from fiscal year 2013.
Iqbal asserted that Fortuners do not need to hesitate to ask if there is something not yet understood. “In case there is anything not clear, just ask me. Many people have asked me directly. If you do not pay taxes, you will be subject to sanctions and penalties, “said Iqbal.
