On August 30, 2017, Sanggar Fortune as part of KITA Bercerita donated 500 books to Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (Community Reading Garden) in Cilandak area. The distribution of this donation is still part of the Negeri Cerita event held on July 29, 2017, at Pejaten Village Mall.

This Taman Bacaan Masyarakat is located at the house of one of the residents who is familiarly called Mama Hanif. In addition to Taman Bacaan Masyarakat, Mama Hanif’s house is also used as the location of PAUD Sanggar Fortune 4 that operates three times a week. Taman Bacaan Masyarakat is a place to read books for the residents especially when they are waiting for their children studying at the PAUD. The various books provided are ranging from cookbooks, parenting books, children’s storybooks, and books related to family.

Mama Hanif’s face lit up when she received a large number of books. “Hopefully, the more books available at Taman Bacaan Masyarakat will support and improve the reading habit of Indonesian families,” she said.

In addition to distributing book donations, Sanggar Fortune also presented donations of gently-worn clothes that have been collected in Fortune Group’s donation box to Rumah Zakat Ragunan South Jakarta. Besides gently worn clothes, the donation also includes some gently worn shoes and handbags. Rumah Zakat will then distribute the donations to the victims of floods and fires all over Indonesia.
