Learning Means of Transportation in Sanggar Fortune Nursery School

Teaching about Transportation at Sanggar FortuneThe rain did not hold Fortuners, Indah Rufiati as Senior Digital Media Planner and DId team and Rina Priyatna as Purchasing Manager of Fortune Indonesia, from visiting Sanggar Fortune Nursery School in Ragunan on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Their arrival was greeted warmly by 30 nursery students who were ready to start the lesson. Indah and Rina did not forget to introduce themselves to the students.

“Kids, this morning we will learn about transportation. Kak Indah and Kak Rina will tell you kinds of transportation on land, water, and air,” said Indah to the nursery students.

“Can you guess? What kind of transportation is this?” said Rina greeted by immediate answers from the students. “Train …. Train …,” cheered the students looking so excited. The introduction to train was followed by singing a song titled Kereta Api while dancing together. The nursery teachers also enlivened the class.

Indah and Rani then described nine other means of transportation, such as boats, ships, airplanes, helicopters, buses, cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. This time they showed the pictures and requested the students to match the pictures with where they operate. “Come on, who would dare to go forward? Paste this picture to where they operate!” said Indah while showing a picture of a boat.

The students enthusiastically came forward and pasted the pictures of boats on the board. The students’ enthusiasm was greeted positively by Hartini Sunna, one of the Sanggar Fortune nursery teachers. Hartini said Indah and Rani’s teaching technique was quite creative. Students’ involvement in learning activities is believed to provide direct benefits.

Indah was also grateful that the students could understand the lesson she explained. She said she was happy to participate in the activities of Sanggar Fortune nursery school. Rina also felt the same way, she was happy to have the opportunity to teach there. “Yes, I’m delighted to meet the little children, especially because I do not have children yet I was entertained with their presence,” said Rina.
