Welcoming Eid Al-Fitr, FORU Distributes Fortuners' Infaq
Aid to Orphans and Non-Staff Fortuners
The month of Ramadan is a golden opportunity to share with others. In the month of countless blessings, Muslims are competing to increase their charity to pursue the Almighty blessings. Therefore, before celebrating the day of victory, Eid Al-Fitr 1434 Hijriah, on August 8, 2013, FORU invited all Fortuners (employees) to set aside part of their fortune to be donated to the people in need.
The company launched the appeal through a memo sent via electronic mail to all Fortuners on July 30, 2013. During the four-day of collection, the cash donations were amounting to a total of eight million rupiah finally distributed on August 2, 2013 to four foundations, namely Daarul Rahmah orphanage on Jl. Harsono RM, Daarul Aitam in Jagakarsa, As-Sodiqiyah in Tangerang, and Pondok Pesantren Yatim & Dhuafa Darul Ma’had Utsmany Aytam Al Madani in Depok.
Undagi Rusdy as the General Affairs Manager explained, of the four orphanages that accepted donations, Daarul Rahmah became an annual priority because it is closest to the office of FORU. “Neighbors or the nearest community should come first to get our help. Besides for the location, Daarul Rahmah is also taking care of quite a big number of orphan children, which is around 200,” said Undagi.
Prior to Eid, aid to orphan children and the poor via infaq distribution was not the only priority of FORU. Besides that, the welfare of Fortuners was also getting attention, especially the non-staff Fortuners such as the housekeeping team, messengers, technicians, office boys, security guards, and drivers with a total of about 54 people.
The aid was not only in cash but also groceries and prayer kits given on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Cempaka Putih room in Gedung Galaktika. Food packages consisting of tea, sugar, biscuits, syrup, and soy sauce were a contribution of FORU Director, Muljadi Sulaiman, while sarongs as the prayer kits, were donated by Miranty Abidin, FORU Commissioner, and Indira Abidin, FORU Corporate Secretary. In addition, there were also donations of prayer mats and other prayer kits from a number of Fortuners.
“Alhamdulillah, this year the company is able to distribute relief from Fortuners to those who deserve it. I, representing the company and the foundation, profusely thank all Fortuners who have set aside some of their fortune. Hopefully, the aid from Fortuners will be useful, rewarding, and a blessing for the company,” said Undagi.
As a non-staff Fortuner who received the aid, Tika Hussein from Office Boy team claimed to be pleased. “What the company gave us was really helpful. I am very happy because I could use the food and groceries in celebrating Eid with family. I also distributed them to the neighbors. Thus, the circle of sharing in this new month is more visible; from one sharing to another sharing to others,” said Tika as agreed by her teammate, M. Zamil and Ahmad Badawi. “Thanks to the company and all Fortuners who have made donations,” they said.
