How to plan your staffing and recruiting policies
Develop & prioritize – planning: Human resource management or staffing and recruiting has been an integral part of any organization since ages. All you need is thorough planning and development of your HR policies. You must plan a whole agenda, job descriptions, requirements before starting on the hunting process. Develop powerful strategies before the hiring and explain in detail to your candidates so they are well aware of your rules, regulations and requirements. It is extremely important that both the parties are well aware of each other’s requirements and expectations. This will help in developing a healthy relation for forthcoming events and projects.
Evaluate: While interviewing and hiring evaluation is your key to reach the right candidate. Develop rules and policies that will help you to check the candidates’ skills and knowledge. A better way out is that you develop a whole sheet and mark the most suitable option for the candidate. For instance, if you are evaluating way of communication, rate him/her on a scale of 10 and then repeat the process for other candidates. You can have a list of questions such as, etiquettes, way of speaking, knowledge of the job, answering the questions right and adaptability etc.
Job description & opportunities: Another important aspect while staffing and recruiting is that you are fully informed about the job that you are hiring people for, so that, you can explain them in a better way what you want and what skills are required. Once you are fully informed of the job description yourself you will be able to communicate to the candidate in a better way, hence the search for the right skills and talent will be done easily. Staffing and recruiting is easy if only you are fully informed of your requirements and needs. Candidates with the right skills will be easier to hunt for.
Maintain Flexibility: From the companies or the organizations end it is essential to develop flexible and beneficial policies for all. View it from both ends i.e. from the employees and employers side both. Flexibility in timings, work pressure and division, vacations, salaries and bonuses is an attraction for most of the employees. They would love working in an environment where they are free and hence the productivity and efficiency increases. Absenteeism and employee turnover rate decreases leading to healthy businesses.
Give Employee perks: Employee perks are one driving force that keeps them on the move and develops a happy working environment. They will definitely enjoy working if they are being appreciated and praised for their work. Mere appreciation won’t do if you have been doing that for years. There are chances; employees will switch for better options. To keep them intact and in place be sure to offer them good perks such as paid vacations, maternity leaves, bonuses, shares etc. To keep them fresh and in high spirits arrange for recreational outings. One definitely becomes bored of the same table chair that he has to witness every other day. A change in routine might help.
