Breaking the Fast Together, a Moment to Create Intimacy among Fortuners
Ustaz Sadun Conveys Three Major Purposes of Fasting
The month of Ramadan is not only igniting the Fortuners’ spirit of worship through the regular Islamic study after midday prayer, but it also becomes an intimacy bonding through the fast-breaking event with all Fortuners. In the company’s annual event held on July 26, 2013 on the 4th floor of Gedung Galaktika, prayers were offered for all FORU’S leaders and employees and a religious discourse was delivered by Ustaz Sadun.
The event was opened by Al-Quran recitation and translation (sari tilawah) by Mochamad Kurniawan (Graphic Designer of Activator team) and Anna Fauziyah (Media Planner of Frontline team). Then, Nur Rochim, the Associate HCD Director, continued the agenda by delivering his speech as the representative of the company. In this occasion, Rochim explained that the event of fast-breaking together among Fortuners is a form of increasing the company values. “Through this program, Fortuners are expected to grow stronger in the belief they hold so that their dedication to the company would have religious value,” said Rochim.
While waiting for the time to break the fast, Ustaz Sadun shared spiritual knowledge to all Fortuners. Ustaz Sadun said that the re-encounter with the holy month of this year is a gift to be thankful for. “Ramadan is a realization of God’s love for His people, and fasting is a reminder for us to keep clean when we meet Him again. As clean as when we were first born,” Ustaz Sadun explained.
Therefore, to achieve this, Ustaz Sadun reminded all Fortuners of three major purposes of fasting. First, keep your words pure. This can be done by always managing anger and willing to apologize and forgive others. Second, keep your heart clean, Ustad Sadun continued. “This part is quite difficult, so there are five things human should avoid, i.e. ungratefulness (kufur nikmat), polytheism (musyrik), hypocrisy, wickedness, and cruelty. Everything must come from the heart,” he asserted.
The third purpose is to align words and heart in order to become a person with commendable acts. “If we can manage our words and heart properly, the next challenge is to implement it into actions. This is a measure of the realization of good speech and pure heart,” said Ustaz Sadun. “If you apply the three goals, hopefully, this company will be great and thrive because all employees work according to the rules of the religion of Allah,” he concluded.
Maghrib Adhan ended Ustaz Sadun’s sermon and became the beginning of the peak of the event that had been awaited. Fortuners immediately ran for the food that had been served. In fact, the meatball dish instantly created a long queue! Besides meatballs, there were nasi bakar (grilled rice), a variety of pastries, iced and hot drinks, fruits, and many others. Some space on the 4th floor that was transformed into a lesehan room (a space for sitting cross-legged) was crowded with Fortuners. Everyone sat down and mingle to eat together.
“Since we are busy with our work, we rarely have a chance to chat with other Fortuners. If we meet or bump into each other in the rest room or copy center, we usually just greet each other. Well, this is our moment to gather together and exchange news with all the Fortuners from different subsidiaries and business units,” said Hanny Arimurti as Business Support Officer of Digital Identity (DId).
Elmanda Yogas as Management Information System (MIS) Officer revealed similar things. “A great event like this makes us more familiar with Fortuners of other teams. We usually get to know the new Fortuners in events like this. Hopefully, FORU will hold this kind of event more frequently and if it is possible next year the fast-breaking event can be held more than once. He he he…” Yogas wished.
Undagi Rusdhy as the General Affair Manager was no less enthusiastic. “I hope that this event will make all Fortuners always open for friendship. In the future, we hope to invite the orphan children in the fast-breaking event so that the holy month atmosphere will be more pronounced and remind Fortuners to always be grateful and share with others,” he concluded.
