Actual Support for 1 Million Biopori Holes Movement
On Thursday, March 26, 2015, FORU along with some business units of Rajawali Corpora namely Nusantara Infrastructure, Cendrawasih Jaya Mandiri, Eagle High Plantations, Premiair, RTV, and Velo Networks gathered in the courtyard of Cluster B of Marunda Flat, North Jakarta, to make biopori holes as a support for the movement of 1 Million Biopori Holes. For about 2.5 hours, the participants managed to make 60 biopori holes with a depth of 80-100cm. Biopori holes are meant to increase the capacity of water retention in the ground. Each biopori hole with a depth of 80-100cm can hold about 7.8 liters of water.
“Can you imagine how much water can be accommodated in the ground if Jakarta manages to have 1 million biopori holes? Jakarta is supposed to be spared from flooding even puddles,” said Dito who hosted the event. Biopori technology is simple yet effective, inexpensive, and can provide significant results. To take care of a biopori hole is considered very simple that is by making sure the hole is always filled by organic waste. Easy, isn’t it? Let’s support 1 Million Biopori Holes Movement by making holes in your neighborhood!
