Jakarta, September 10, 2016 – Sanggar Fortune and Kidzania Jakarta held a Family Festival 2016 today in Taman Buni (Buni Park) South Jakarta. This event is basically a Jamboree for Early Childhood Education (PAUD), which is held annually by Sanggar Fortune. However, this year the event is packaged in a Family Festival with the theme “Happy Family, Prosperous Indonesia”.
In order to realize a prosperous Indonesia, one of the most significant factors is the quality of the children as our nation’s next generation. Children who are emotionally and academically sufficient will grow into qualified children. Certainly, family is at the forefront in the process.
Various activities in the Family Festival are to promote family participation in holding up four major concepts, namely, families reuniting, interacting, empowering, and sharing. The four concepts are in line with what the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) applies throughout 2016 in order to strengthen the family resilience in Indonesia. The competitions held were three-leg race, catching the ball, and completing jigsaw puzzle.
“Family as the smallest unit is the first and foremost mean in building the character of the nation and preparing qualified human resources. Communication and good relationships among family members are the main requirements that must be met so that the family can function properly. We expect this family festival becomes a fun way to improve communication and relationships within the family,” said Miranty Abidin, the Founder of Sanggar Fortune.
In addition to various competitions involving cooperation and communication between children and parents, the Family Festival was also enlivened by the games provided by Kidzania Jakarta. Hundreds of PAUD students in South Jakarta could enjoy the excitement of playing the various role play professions including being a dentist, archaeologist, model, and also painter for free. During the process of playing the various types of professions, children gained experience, values, and skills that support their success.
Happy Family, Prosperous Indonesia
Considering that the foundation of a great nation is family, Sanggar Fortune takes “Happy Family, Prosperous Indonesia” as the theme of community empowerment program throughout 2016 to improve the quality of Indonesian families. The three main programs applied are Warga Mengajar, KITA Bercerita, and Warung Senang.
Warga Mengajar (Teaching Tribute) program offers opportunity for the community to share knowledge to students, teachers, or parents of Sanggar Fortune PAUDs, including the training of good parenting. The Family Movement KITA Bercerita (Indonesian Family as Children’s Friend Tells Story) is a collaboration between Rajawali Group and Sanggar Fortune that aims to tell as many stories as possible to Indonesian children, convey knowledge and noble values in a fun way, and inspire parents to tell stories to their children. While Warung Senang (Happy Stall) focuses more on economic empowerment for teachers and parents of Sanggar Fortune PAUD. Warung Senang provides additional income for teachers and parents of Sanggar Fortune PAUD through a variety of healthful food products they make.
