On February 8, 2018, PT Semen Jawa, a subsidiary of SCG, one of the renowned conglomerates in ASEAN, hosted an event called The Health Ambassador, which is located at Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Al-Istiqomah, Sukabumi. This event is the collaboration between PT Semen Jawa and Sukabumi District Health Office which is attended by 256 santri or students of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) and Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) of Ponpes Al-Istiqomah.

The purpose of this event is to invite students to gain practical knowledge on creating sanitation and hygienic toilets, so that they can implement it in their daily life, either in the school environment or in their neighborhood. The santri who attended this event also seemed excited to follow the series of workshop events on clean sanitation and hygienic toilets held in each class and guided by volunteering employees and management personnel of PT Semen Jawa.

“Our commitment is to build a better and sustainable life for the environment and community. One of the ways is improving the healthy living culture. Therefore, we invite employees and management personnel to be personally involved and implement this commitment “said Somchai Dumrongsil as President Director of PT Semen Jawa.

Moreover, the event was also attended by Sukabumi Regent’s representative, Dody A Somantri, who added his hope that through the program of Healthy Ambassador organized by PT Semen Jawa, the santri of Ponpes Al-Istiqomah can have clean sanitation and hygienic toilets as well as apply the practical knowledge of the clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) they have learned in their daily lives wherever they are.
