On one occasion, Tony Robbins asked the participants, who have ever failed? What caused the failure? The participants replied one after another:
I have no money.
I recruited the wrong people.
My team is not capable.
I have no skills.
My boss is not competent.
My company is lousy.
Our President is not capable.

And Tony said that money, skills, and all those are resources. Failure is not caused by resources; failure is caused by resourcefulness, the confidence that we are able and that we have all the resources needed.

The most successful people in the world did not have resources to begin with, but because they believe that they can, they get whatever resources they need. So true. There are many poor people who, because of their faith, learn from successful people to build prosperity and prosper others. From poor condition, they have turned out to be very prosperous people and are capable of prospering others.

Many people started out having no skills, but then they develop themselves into experts. Do you still remember the story of a school dropout boy, a newspaper boy, who studied from the newspaper he was selling, and managed to win an intelligence contest? With strong hope, prayers, and perseverance, many people who are far from rich have managed to perform the hajj pilgrimage. Can you recall the story of a garbage scavenger who made it to perform hajj pilgrimage? Or a housekeeper who was asked to accompany her employer who got the turn to go to hajj but suddenly got a stroke, and so she could enjoy the hajj plus package to perform Hajj? Or a vegetable hawker in my housing complex who had longed for hajj pilgrimage and heard about a job opportunity as catering assistant in Mecca to serve the pilgrims, and then, he signed up and performed the pilgrimage? There were also employees who always complained to have an incompetent boss. Suddenly, a new employee who does not like to complain entered. He studied why the company was not successful, he did what he could, and gave a lot of feedback to his boss. Finally, the company thrived because of his contribution, and his boss gave him plenty of opportunities for training in various places to become his successor. And the company became successful.

And what’s funny about it is, in the same company, the employees blamed the boss for their failure, and the boss blamed the employees for their failure. It takes only one person, who does not complain and believes he can and feels resourceful, to change everything, of course with divine permission. The most unreasonable complaint is the one that blames the president. Many people remain successful, whoever the president is. And even if it is the cause of the failure, they move to another country and gain their success there. So they still have roads to success without relying on their president.

So it’s not money, skills, employees or boss, let alone the president, which define our failure or success. Our failure or success lies in our heart, and in Him. And Allah is as we expect Him to be.

So build our success with confidence, perseverance, and positive belief of Him. Stay close to Him and ask which path that can lead us to success in this world and the hereafter. Do whatever we can do in His way; today must be better than yesterday. Build good characters and mindset. Insha Allah, with His blessings, we can achieve whatever we want. Because for Him, even the sky is not a limit.

So what can we do today to receive His blessings to achieve whatever we want to achieve?
