Empowered by Simple Things: Sanggar Fortune Holds Workshop on Entrepreneurship to Empower the Fostered PAUDs
On Thursday, February 18, 2016, entrepreneurial spirit arose from the Entrepreneurship Workshop held by Sanggar Fortune. That day all teacher representatives of PAUD Sanggar Fortune were present to explore entrepreneurial knowledge and strategies. Each representative of PAUD Sanggar Fortune was asked to propose entrepreneurial ideas that will be implemented, such as making musical instruments from reusable materials, making the hanging gardens out of inorganic rubbish, character t-shirts, educational games, crafts from old newspapers, or plan for selling pizza. The profit of the entrepreneurial programs will be used for the operations of each PAUD Sanggar Fortune.
After last year’s focus on the development of teachers’ competence and completion of the curriculum, this year Sanggar Fortune is focusing on community empowerment program. Accordingly each Sanggar Fortune will have complete capability; smart teachers, complete curriculum, and empowered PAUD. In addition to providing the capital, Sanggar Fortune also provides assistance and evaluation because the entrepreneurial activities will later be contested. The winning Sanggar Fortune PAUD will receive a prize of additional capital. “This workshop is very beneficial, especially for me. It opens up my horizons that we can actually start entrepreneurship from simple things around us,” said Tjahyani, one of Sanggar Fortune PAUD teachers.
