Many Fathers Love, but Do not Know How
Sanggar Fortune and Komunitas Rumah Pencerah Launch the Books Menjadi Orangtua Cerdas and Guru Cahaya Masa Depan
Many parents, especially the fathers, love the children but they do not know how to show it. This was stated by Irwan Rinaldi, an activist of Fathers’ Roles who has been active in parenting world for 23 years. “Once my mobile phone crashed because lots of fathers were asking about how to love their children,” said Irwan Rinaldi. The ignorance of parenting can be a gap between the child and the father. It can make children at home fatherless or losing the real figure of a father that is crucial in the process of a child development.
That is why Sanggar Fortune takes part in improving the quality of education and parenting in Indonesia. Sanggar Fortune, as the corporate social responsibility program of Fortune Group, collaborated with Komunitas Rumah Pencerah (KRP) to launch the Enrichment Books for Parents and Teachers of PAUD (Early Childhood Education) (12/9) at Anies Baswedan’s residence in Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta. Entitled “Menjadi Orang Tua Cerdas” (Being Smart Parents) and “Guru Cahaya Masa Depan” (Teachers Light of the Future), these books are dedicated to the two figures who play the most important role in Early Childhood Education i.e. parents and teachers.
“It is time for Early Childhood Education to become our major concern. Because providing the best education at an early age means building a strong foundation of human capital for the successor of this nation.” said Indira Abidin, Chairman of Sanggar Fortune Foundation and Director of Fortune Group who participated as a speaker at the book launch. Fery Baswedan, as KRP administrator, stated that this activity is a way to show concern and support for the government in realizing quality PAUDs.
Coinciding with the commemoration of the National Father’s Day on 12 November 2015, at the end of the book launch, Sanggar Fortune and KRP also conducted a parenting training for 50 fathers with the theme Building Positive Communication. “This book is like a manual book for dads. So far there has been no book that writes about the important things in educating and parenting especially children at an early age,” said Irwan Rinaldi, who became the speaker in the training. By reading this book, the parents, including the father, are expected to optimize the children’s growth process through proper parenting.
Fortuners who want to optimize the parenting quality can also have the book by contacting Gita Galantari of Fortune Group Corporate Communications via email gita@foru.co.id. For more info visit www.sanggarfortune.org.
