The struggle of Fortune Group at Anugerah Business Review (ABR) 2012 finally gave a good result. After winding through the selection and the long awaiting process, Fortune successfully received an award. Unmitigated, Fortune managed to bring home two trophies from this prestigious event. At the awarding night, held on November 21, 2012, Fortune won the first place as The Best Corporation for Corporate Communications as well as the third place for The Best Corporation for Learning Organization category. All Fortuners shall be proud!
Anugerah Business Review (ABR) is a form of recognition and prestigious awards given by the business magazine Indonesian Business Review to companies in Indonesia, either public companies, state-owned companies, private national and foreign companies in the field of finance, marketing, operations, human resources (HR), and good corporate governance (GCG) that are considered to be successful in improving its performance.
Therefore, Fortune’s victory in this prestigious event is not easily obtained. Collecting the documents for the first phase alone took months to be done. Furthermore, the selection was done by filling out the questionnaire. The last process that is the most thrilling was to have a face-to-face interview with the jury. It is indeed a remarkable achievement because Fortune has successfully defeating the other 640 participants that consisted of SOEs and leading private firms from numerous business varieties in the country.
“The participation of Fortune Group in the contests such as ABR award 2012 is already a breakthrough. This means that our company has already had the courage to compete with other companies from different types of businesses in implementing good corporate governance (GCG),” said Corporate Communications Manager of Fortune, Oscar Prajnaphalla. “This year, we follow five categories; three of them made it into the finals, and 2 have received an award. This is a success that we need to be grateful for. By getting an award as such means that our company does not lose from any bigger companies; and next year we should be able to get more awards,” he said.
Fortune earned the highest score in the category of The Best Corporation for Corporate Communication because it has a good corporate communication strategy, has a monitoring tool for communication evaluation, has a varied program of corporate communications, yet still able to be effective and efficient, and has guidelines and standard operating procedure (SOP). On the second place following Fortune is PT Bakrie Intiland Development Tbk. Meanwhile, the third to the fifth place belongs to PT Kresna Graha Sekurindo Tbk., PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk., and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), respectively.
For the category of The Best Corporation for Learning Organization, the assessment was based on the principles of enhancing the company’s performances and fair treatment to all stakeholders. This process should be started from the leader, which in turn encourages the implementation of such practices, so that it will become the culture of the company. PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. (TELKOM) won the first place of this category, followed by PT Pupuk East Kalimantan. The fourth and fifth position respectively won in a row by PT Indonesia Persero Insurance Services and PT Federal International Finance.
“This is the first time for Fortune to participate in ABR, and we directly become one of the finalists and won the third position in the category of Learning Organization. This is certainly a great achievement. Next year, we must achieve a better position by having a better preparation,” said Nurfurqan as Legal Manager of Fortune.
This wonderful news is certainly a sweet gift for the company at the end of the year. “Unbelievable! With this victory, we have started a good foundation in ABR. Next year, this achievement must be maintained and improved,” said the Director of Fortune, Muljadi Sulaeman. “Moreover, the assessment done by the ABR also involves GCG aspects. This will enhance Fortune’s image as public company,” Muljadi concluded.
