Applying Three Preventive Steps to Prevent the Fire
Fortune Support Team Organized Fire Simulation
As an effort to maintain the safety of Fortuners and to protect company assets, Fortune has organized fire-alertness simulation on last October 21, 2012. This event was held at Galaktika Building and followed by Fortune support team consisting of security, office boys, technicians, housekeeping and general affairs. Working closely with Aksesindo Foundation as the provider of outsourcing security services to Fortune, this activity also aims to strengthen the support team as the fire-alertness teams for Fortuners.
According Undagi Rusdhy as the general affairs manager of Fortune, this is not the first fire simulation that we held. “In 2010, this kind of simulation had also been done. This year, the fire simulation activity is being held again to remind the support team on the procedures whenever there is fire. This is because it is them who are always in the office for 24 hours,” said Undagi. “Therefore, the support team will become the vanguard for Fortuners whenever an emergency occurs. When there is smoke, for example, this must be immediately taken care of,” said Undagi.
Mochammad Thohir as the senior security who also followed the fire simulation justified it. Thohir warned that there are three steps must be taken by Fortuners when there is emergency situation. Either it is smoke or flames. “The first step is very simple. Don’t be panic. This is important, so that people can think clearly,” said Thohir.
The second step, he added, is to report to the security team or other support teams. Next, that team will follow up the condition, starting from seeking the trigger points to coordinate with the technician team to cut off the power from its center, so that the danger will not turn into a bigger problem. “The third step is to save yourself and the people around you. Remember, when there is an emergency, you must always use the stairs. Do not use the lift since the electricity must be turned off,” he concluded.
During the simulation conducted yesterday, the support team was trained to deal with fire hazards by using burlap and a light fire extinguisher (APAR).”We and the Foundation are currently formulating any technics required to put out the fire. Later, we will also disclose this information in writings to the citizens,” Thohir concluded.
