Let's Reach Our Dreams!

“Pick me! Pick me!” shouted the children, raising their hands, hoping they were appointed by the teachers to come forward. A little girl was elected and enthusiastically mentioned her ideals without hesitation. “I want to be a spaceman!” she said. Suddenly the mothers and the teachers burst into laughter. It turned out that the girl meant to say astronaut when she explained her dream by pointing to the paper bearing the image of outer space.
“Let’s Reach Our Dreams!” is the theme carried by Warga Mengajar or Teaching Tribute on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. The theme was raised to commemorate the National Children’s Day which falls on July 23 in order to encourage children to keep the dream of their future alive. In this occasion, Vincent as the volunteer also provided an overview of some professions to the children by matching pictures of profession and the workplace.
The student of University of Indonesia claimed that it is his first experience teaching PAUD students. “Glad to try. I also get to know why it is called playing while learning. Everything was better than I had expected, there were no unruly kids,” he said.
