Coinciding with its first anniversary, Lavender Cancer Support Group held a Healthy Lavender party attended by at least 300 cancer fighters of various ages who came from Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. Taking place at Jungle Land Area Sentul, the event also got the full support from FORU as one of the sponsors.

Coping with cancer is not an easy thing. Many people feel that their lives shatter and their future seems bleak after receiving a cancer diagnosis. Indira Abidin, one of the Directors of Fortune Group together with a good friend then sought to change all that by setting up Lavender Ribbon Cancer Support Group. The fact that the Creator gave cancer to one of the leaders of Fortune Group is certainly not in vain. Fortune Group values, positive outlook towards various tests of life, proactively seeking answers from the given challenges, progressively choosing methods of healing and passionately sharing knowledge, building awareness of healthy living and helping other cancer patients were the main factors that promoted her recovery.

Lavender Ribbon Cancer Support Group was set up by Indira as an education and communication forum for cancer patients and their companions. “Fortune Group has been the place where I work in corporate communications and marketing. Now it is time for Fortune Group to contribute its expertise for cancer patients through me. This is God’s given mission to me and Fortune Group”, said Indira. Through Lavender Ribbon community, cancer is expected to no longer be a terrifying threat, instead a gift that needs to be fought for to better appreciate life and love neighbors.
