On Thursday morning, October 22, 2015, as many as 39 Fortuners from the management livened up the room of Neo Savana Green Savana Hotel, Sentul City, Bogor. Like soldiers ready for combat, Fortuners came in the camouflage uniform. Instead of having a combat, Fortuners were ready to hold Annual Meeting which was also attended by the directors. The Annual Meeting this year had the theme of “NBD is the new battle”.

The event was opened by Aris Boediharjo, Director of Fortune Group by exposing the economic conditions in 2016 that will provide an even greater challenge than in 2015. He explained that Fortune Group can no longer rely on formal methods they used to do, but they must better elaborate the new streamline revenue in the coming year.

“As though in a battle, all armed forces including the navy, army, and air force has to be ready for combat. Similarly, Fortune Group, all business units and their troops must be on standby and ready to fight on any battlefield, small or large, that will be faced in the coming year,” said Edhy Bawono as Director of Operations of Fortune Indonesia. The annual meeting was held to prepare all Fortuners to face the corporate challenges in the coming year. All business units, both from Fortune Indonesia and Fortune PR were invited to sit together and have a discussion to organize a better year of 2016.

In this meeting, each business unit presented the analysis of Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat that are likely to be faced in the coming year. After that, the meeting participants held in depth group discussions to determine the main points to ponder. Each commission tried to find the best solution for the three main points they had agreed on.

In response to the challenges to be faced in the coming year, Fortune PR seemed to be upbeat and alert. “Opportunities are still widely open and we also have identified a clear ‘how to’ so that next year looks quite bright. Synergies among business units must also be improved; we should be able to offer 360o services to clients. PR does have plentiful jobs but everything has been clearly identified,” said Thomas Franky, Managing Director of Fortune PR. Franky added that Fortune Indonesia should increase its cooperation because the competition in the world of communication is getting tougher so that there is no more gap between advertising and public relations.

Besides brainstorming the strategies to face the coming year, ice-breaking activities had also been prepared in the event to improve the bonding among team members. The meeting committee had also arranged a simple surprise for Aris Boediharjo, Director of Fortune Group who celebrated his birthday on October 17. A unique photo depicting Aris driving his favorite Harley Davidson with the caption ‘Keep Calm & Ride to FORTUNE’ had been prepared as a memorable gift. This miniature was signed by the meeting participants who were present at the time.
