Halal Bihalal of Fortune Group and Appreciation for Retired Fortuners
“Once a Fortuner, always a Fortuner” said Gita Galantari, as the host, amid the warm atmosphere of Halal bihalal (Indonesian ritual for asking forgiveness on Eid al-Fitr day) of Fortune Group and Appreciation for Retired Fortuners on Friday afternoon, August 7, 2015 on the fourth floor of Gedung Galaktika.
That afternoon, in the moment of halal bihalal, Fortune Group presented appreciation to 22 Fortuners who have retired, for their devotion and dedication that they have contributed to Fortune for a dozen years even decades.
The highest appreciation was given primarily to then the Board of Directors and Commissioners who are also the founders of Fortune Group including Indra Abidin, Muljadi Sulaeman, Kasman Ardan, Dedi Panigoro, Miranty Abidin, and Lucia Budiono.
The expression of gratitude was conveyed by Aris Boediharjo as Managing Director of Fortune Group in his speech. Aris said that the founders of Fortune, who are commonly called pandawa lima, have a very strong teamwork. They are strong because they share the same vision, complement one another’s shortcomings, and always put Fortune first. “This is something we should all follow as the next generation of Fortune,” he continued.
On this occasion, Indra Abidin also invited Fortuners to look back and reminisce about the history of the establishment of Fortune, the tough times passed, and also glorious achievements that have been successfully inscribed by Fortune. “We leave all Fortuners, who have great expectations, to the new board of directors. Hopefully Fortune could produce works that provide welfare for many people, remain reliable in the community and partners. Hopefully Fortune can live for centuries, become stronger, more prosperous, and more successful. Hajar !!,” Indra Abidin closed his speech which was immediately greeted with emotional applause from Fortuners.
The atmosphere is getting warmer when the gratitude video from Fortuners to then the directors and commissioners was screened and also when memory photos and video of the retired Fortuners were shown. Repeatedly boisterous laughter filled the room.
“Events like this make us, as Fortuners who had served for Fortune, feel very cared for and appreciated by the company,” said Undagi Rusdhy, a retired Fortuner who has worked for Fortune for 28 years. Undagi claimed to feel so hard to leave Fortune, let alone have to part with Fortuners whom he regards as his second family.
After giving souvenirs to all retired Fortuners, the event was ended by shaking hands, asking forgiveness, and eating together. Best wishes to all retired Fortuners in beginning a new chapter in life. Long life to you and may you always have overflowing blessings, Amen.
