The Nitty-Gritty of Ad Creation Process: Aldy Dewandhana and Fajar Rusdianto in UMJ Students Visit to Fortune Indonesia
Dozens of students of University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) majoring in communications were impressed when Aldy Dewandhana and Fajar Rusdianto, creative team of Fortune Indonesia, exposed the step by step of the long creation-process of TV, radio, and print ads. They did not expect that the ads that they see every day need a super complicated creation process starting from brainstorming, creating the storyline, storyboards, initial brief, pre-production meetings, shooting day, offline, color grading, online, voice over recording, jingle / music, up to the final mixing.
During the students visit conducted on Thursday, March 5, 2014, Aldy and Fajar also described several applicable approaches including direct and emotional approaches to make an advertisement enticing for the customers. “An ordinary ad is deliberately exaggerated so it will linger in the minds of consumers,” said Aldy.
The students looked enthusiastic when both presenters displayed some advertisements created by Fortune Indonesia. Reziana, one of UMJ students, stated she was pleased to be able to visit Fortune Indonesia. “The materials and the speakers are attractive. It is very useful for us who will soon have to choose the college majors,” she said.
