A Special Year End Gift for Fortune Indonesia from Citra Pariwara
The sweetly-rewarded long wait became a special year end gift in 2014 for PT Fortune Indonesia. One gold and three silver trophies were achieved in the event Citra Pariwara 2014, the oldest national advertising award in the Asia Pacific region. On the awards night held on November 28, 2014 at The Oval Epiwalk, Fortune Indonesia was also listed in the Top 5 Advertising Agency of the Year in the 4th place.
The achievement was proudly welcomed by Aris Boediharjo as CEO of Fortune Indonesia. Aris said that this is a remarkable achievement for Fortune. “This achievement exceeded our targets. Perhaps this is Fortune’s highest achievement during my work here and our position as the Big Four is the first time after 40 years of existence,” said Aris Boediharjo.
Aris said the achievement in the event Citra Pariwara is Fortune’s dream in the last 10 years.
To make it happen, Aris continued, various programs, well-planned strategies and hard work had been done. After being awarded with various achievements, in the future, new well-planned strategies are going to be made to improve the achievement. “We never feel satisfied; we always want to be better. Insha’Allah everything will work out,” said Aris.
This achievement also takes Fortune Indonesia to new dreams. The works of Fortune Indonesia will soon be included in various world advertising competitions such as AdFesst in Pattaya Bangkok, New York Festivals and London International Awards.
The achievement in Citra Pariwara becomes pride for Fortuners, as said by Aldy Dewandhana as Creative Director (CD) of Fortune Indonesia. Aldy was happy that his hard work with the team resulted in gold and silver trophies. Of the contested categories, Fortune Indonesia won a gold for Radio Campaign Tupperware and three silver for Radio Single with the products of Tupperware Chocolate Milkshake, Mango Smoothies, and Mixed Carrot Juice.
“The hard work to make this radio ad took 7 times of recording at the studio,” said Aldy.
The hard work lasted for one month starting from the process of brainstorming, script writing, and discussions with staff in the studio, to the execution process. The major challenge in the process of making the radio ad was in the execution stage in the vocal take and voice take over. Various experiments were attempted to produce a perfect work according to the team. Each session of the process lasted from 11 at noon until 12 o’clock at night.
“The challenge was on how to make the audio sound as though it’s ringing in the head when being heard through earphones. We didn’t give up though we had to do the experiments many times and with many tricks. And this way has definitely never been done by other agencies,” said Aldy.
Aldy got a hint of hope when he found out that Fortune Indonesia became one of the finalists for the radio commercials. On the awards night, he felt discouraged when knowing the other finalists were renowned agencies with well-known works.
“We were really surprised to learn that we got silver trophies for three categories in the single radio ad, let alone when we knew that we won the gold for the series,” he said.
The registration to advertising awards at regional and international levels, said Aldy, will hopefully also bring good luck to Fortune Indonesia. He hopes not only the works but also the name of Fortune Indonesia will be known worldwide.
Aldy was not the only one who had felt discouraged before the award was announced, Hany Nurahmawati as Marketing Communications Manager of Fortune Indonesia also felt the same way because a few days before the awards night, a disqualification letter was given by the committee to Fortune Indonesia. There were two works that were disqualified because they did not pass the ethics test.
“Imagine, of the 20 materials that we submitted, two of them were disqualified by the jury, and 14 materials did not pass to the final stage. So there were only 4 materials left,” explained Hany who hopes to make other achievements at the world level competitions.
