The Winners of FORU Scholarship 2014
Well-performed school students are not only smart in academic grades, but also active in non-academic activities, organizations and extracurriculars. The message was delivered by Indira Abidin as FORU Corporate Secretary to the recipients of FORU scholarship 2014. After delivering her speech, Indira presented the scholarships to the children of non-staff Fortuners and outsourcing Fortuners.
“After getting this scholarship, your performance shouldn’t be declining; instead you have to improve your performance. Hopefully, this scholarship could spur you on to always excel,” said Indira Abidin after handing over FORU scholarships 2014.
This year scholarships are put into two categories, namely SD (elementary school) and SMP-SMA (junior and senior high school). There are three top students selected in each category. The first winner received a scholarship worth Rp 3 million, second winner Rp 2.5 million, and third winner Rp 2 million. Besides the three best, the scholarships were also given to 7 other participants as an appreciation.
Aris Boediharjo as the CEO of Fortune Indonesia also put great hope in this scholarship program. For him, the scholarship program should continue to be powered and improved. “Even more, it should comprise more categories and participants. There were not too many participants previously. In fact, there are many Fortuners who already have children. If all of them participate in the program, we can give more amazing contribution to this country,” said Aris after presenting the scholarships to the participants.
Since the opening of scholarship registration for Fortuners’ children, 13 participants had registered. All participants were selected from academic grades, academic achievement developments in the last few years, and non-academic achievements.
The program was happily welcomed by Fortuners, such as Anshori the parent of Annisa Anada Putri. Anshori enrolled his daughter in the scholarship program for elementary school category. The result of the selection and assessment mentioned Annisa as the second winner of FORU scholarship for elementary school category.
“Alhamdulillah, my daughter was awarded this scholarship. The prize can later be used to fund other expenses such as for swimming lessons, extracurricular Paskibra, and school uniforms. I hope this kind of scholarship will continue to exist, even with more participants,” said Anshori as FORU messenger.
