FORU Holds Seminar and Medical Tests for Fortuners
FORU in cooperation with the Central Asia Raya (CAR) held a health seminar for Fortuners on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. The health seminar held at FORU office presented several speakers such as Dr. Johanes Purwoto, SpPD – KEMD, FINASIM, Dr. Anastasia Hermawan from Siloam Hospital Simatupang Jakarta.
The event that began at two-thirty in the afternoon discussed about various diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. The seminar also discussed about the solutions and effective treatment to the diseases. For early detection of the diseases, Dr. Anastasia explained the importance of health insurance.
It is associated with the lack of public awareness for a medical examination. In addition, financial factors are oftentimes inhibiting access to health services. With the health insurance from the company, of course, Fortuners get a sense of security during work.
“Companies are supposed to provide health insurance for their employees, just as what FORU has done by insuring the health of Fortuners with CAR,” said Anastasia.
This seminar drew enthusiastic response from Fortuners. Erica Camilla Nasution as FORU HCD Officer explained that currently her team is making plans to follow up Fortuners’ enthusiasm on the importance of health. One of them is the plan for training on what to do to help people who get a heart attack.
Still considering the health of Fortuners, FORU held medical tests for Fortuners on April 17 and 25, 2014. Previously, FORU has ever held similar medical tests in 2011. The medical examination included tests of blood pressure, urine, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood sugar. For a maximum result, a minimum of 12 hours or a maximum of 14 hours of fasting is required.
“It’s nice to see Fortuners’ high enthusiasm to learn about their physical health. This is done for prevention. It follows that in the beginning of August 2014 we plan to conduct medical tests when recruiting new employees,” said Erica.
Fortuners hoped that by having an initial medical test they can anticipate the possibilities that may happen. “For example, after we know that someone has symptoms of hypertension or low blood pressure, we can take anticipation of what can be done in case something unexpected happen,” said Erica.
Dina Carolyna, Fortune PR finance officer, claimed to be happy to take part in the medical tests. She hoped that similar events can be held in subsequent years. Dina also welcomed and wanted to participate in training about things to do to help people who get a heart attack.
“I’m glad because it’s a form of corporate responsibility to Fortuners. So I can work peacefully,” said Dina.
The positive response was also delivered by Ludwina Vidyaninggar as the Copywriter of Fortune Indonesia Creative team. Instead of being worried, Ludwina claimed to be enthusiastic to take the medical test for the first time. She does not mind if the medical test is held regularly.
“I’m curious with my health condition, because my work sometimes demands me to work day and night and so I have less regular diet. It’ll be great if medical test like this can be held every year,” said Ludwina.
