Love Mom Even More
Sundy and Indah Read Stories at Sanggar Fortune Nursery School
Once the special guests arrived at Sanggar Fortune Nursery School, on February 28, 2013, the children immediately screamed with excitement. Because, in addition to sharing milk and snacks, the two special guests from Fortune also brought story books for them!
Yes, before starting their activities in the office, that morning the chosen Fortuners took some time to stop by Fortune Nursery School and became guest teachers in the tale class. They were Senior Account Executive of Pegasus Fortune Indonesia Muhammad Sundy and Senior Copy Writer of Any-U Fortune Indonesia Indah Lestari.
“Who loves Mom?” Sundy said that was immediately welcomed by a loud chorus of the children. “I do!” They shouted in unison. Then, Sundy started to read a story about a small bear named Tedi who likes to play with his mother. And just like the nursery school students, Tedi was told to love his mother very much. Therefore, Tedi wants to be like her.
While reading the story of Tedi, Sundy often interacted directly with the children. When it came to the page that described Tedi at his lunch, Sundy also invited them to count the fish eaten by Tedi. “Who likes fish? Let us count Tedi’s fish together, ok! “Sundy said.
Not willing to be outdone by Sundy, Indah also delivered her story vibrantly. Indah told four stories, namely the tale of a giraffe that likes blowing trumpet, a naughty lizard, a stingy cow, and a hen that likes producing eggs. “Wow, it was very hilarious. I remember reading tales to my little child. My child is not even willing to be told tales anymore now. Seeing the kids, I feel like I want to have another child then,” said Indah, then laughed. “Sundy enjoys being with the kids. He seems like finding his lost world,” the mother of an eight-year-old daughter joked again.
Elvina Siti Kumaira, 4 years, looked very eager to listen to the tale of Tedi. In her view, Tedi’s mother resembles her mother very much. “My mom is also good. She often cooks tasty foods, takes me to stroll, reads me stories,” said Rara, her nickname. “I love my mom even more then,” she said with sparkling eyes.
One of the teachers of Fortune Nursery School, Teti Herawati, was happy for the presence of Fortuners who participated to be the guest teachers. “Mas Sundy and Mbak Indah could immediately break the ice and win the heart of the children. The class was not awkward at all, the children got close and felt at home listening to the tales they told to the end,” she said. “The way they told the tales can be our reference in managing the tale class. The children find it very hard to focus on the story we are reading, let alone listening to it till the end. Salute,” closed Teti.
