Ten Names of Fortune’s Sohibul Qurban Announced
Division of Drivers is the Major Contributor
Every year, Fortune Group has a distinctive tradition ahead of Eid ul-Adha. This tradition is to raffle all the names of Fortuners to be ‘appointed’ as sohibul qurban alias a donor to sacrifice an animal such as cows or goats for the dhuafa (poor).
In Islamic law, the sacrificial slaughtering of animals is an activity performed after conducting Shalat Eid which continues until three days later. This sacrifice is obligatory for those who can afford, but it is optional (sunnah) for those who cannot afford it and it is conducted as a form to worship God.
In the raffle conducted by support team on last October 24, 2012, ten names were chosen to be Fortune’s sohibul qurban this year. They are Hanny Arimurti (Business Support Officer of Digital Media Solution), Maryani (Senior Media Specialist of Fortune Investment Group), Arinto Puji Utama (Art Director of Pegasus), Undagi Rusdhy (General Affairs Manager of Fortune Group), Ahmad Fahmi (Messenger of Fortune Group), Farai Tody Syalar (Senior Media Planner of Touchpoint), and Bistok Zulkarnaen (Art Director of Anythink). Driver Division contributed to be the most donors based on the three names selected, namely Wasim, Dina Maulana and Syaefudin.
This year, through the selected Sohibul Qurban, Fortune donated 1 cow (equivalent to seven donors) and 3 goats (equivalent to three donors). These animals were donated to three places. One cow for Early Childhood Education / PAUD (ECD) Sanggar Fortune that is being nurtured by the company, and the goats were given to Masjid Nurul Falah in RM. Harsono, Masjid Al-Muhsinin in Hajj Sinen, and Musholla Al-Nurrahman in Jabir, respectively.
Undagi Rusdhy as the General Affairs Manager of Fortune Group congratulated the selected sohibul qurban. “People should feel the benefits of company’s presence in their neighborhood. It is also a form of concern of the company, as well as respect for the citizens,” said the man whose name happened to be selected in the sohibul qurban raffle this year. “Hopefully, this activity will be beneficial for all of us,” said Undagi.
Dina Maulana as one of the sohibul qurban feels very grateful. “Alhamdulillah, I am glad to be chosen as one of the sohibul qurban. Personally, I do not plan to contribute to the animal sacrifices this year since there are still so many needs that must be met. Thank you, Fortune. This year, I am finally able to practice the worship,” said Dina.
Maryani is also no less enthusiastic to know that her name was chosen as sohibul qurban. “Every year, I always try to save some money to donate for buying sacrificial animals,” said Yani, her nickname. “This year, our father-in-law happened to has been passed away so the family is really focused on this matter. Alhamdulillah, my name came out as one sohibul qurban in the company raffle. Hopefully this event could become a blessing for all of us,” said Yani.
