LinkedIn reaches 500 million members with growth driven by developing markets in Asia Pacific

Indonesia is one of the fastest growing markets in Asia Pacific and greater Jakarta area is named as world’s 4th most connected places on LinkedIn

 

Jakarta, 25 April 2017 – LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network on the internet, today celebrated a major milestone by passing the 500-million members mark globally. Over half a billion professionals in 200 countries are engaging with one another, connected with +10 million active jobs, and have access to 9+ million companies across the continent on LinkedIn.

In Asia Pacific, the membership base has reached more than 118 million, growing almost six fold since the company set up its the APAC headquarters in Singapore six years ago. India remains as LinkedIn’s largest market in Asia Pacific, and second globally with more than 42 million members. In Southeast Asia, the membership base has grown to more than 22 million members up from 20 million last quarter – with Indonesia driving the growth with more than 8 million members.

 

Indonesia – specifically, Greater Jakarta area, is ranked fourth-most connected place on LinkedIn, just after global cities – London, Amsterdam, San Francisco, ahead of any Asian cities or regions.
