It can be a beneficial tool when working with brands on your blog \u2014 and here\u2019s why:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b><span style=\"color: #535353;\">What does the brand get out of it?<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #535353;\"> The goal of a brand using content marketing is to tap into prospective customers and turn them into repeat buyers. By having their brand featured within or alongside content that attracts a certain audience \u2014 most likely a specific demographic they are attempting to reach \u2014 they are gaining the customer\u2019s trust. Ultimately, the brand hopes that, like a loyal reader, the loyal customer return to the brand over and over again.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b><span style=\"color: #535353;\">What does the blogger get out of it?<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #535353;\"> For the blogger, content marketing provides a way of working with brands and monetization that doesn\u2019t scream \u201cTHIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT!\u201d like a banner might. You\u2019re still providing your readers with content that is \u201cread worthy\u201d that<i> you<\/i> wrote \u2014 and as long as you <a href=\"http:\/\/heartifb.com\/2012\/10\/01\/how-to-write-a-solid-post-disclosure\/\"><b><span style=\"color: #262626;\">announce the post is sponsored or affiliated with a brand<\/span><\/b><\/a> (as the FTC guidelines states), it\u2019s kosher.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b><span style=\"color: #535353;\">What does the reader get out of it?<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #535353;\"> With content marketing, the reader sticks around and actually reads the sponsored post because, unlike a typical advertisement, they gain something out of it.
